Over the past few years, I have ordered various Shonan items, including 22 AWG, 10 AWG, 12 AWG, 10 AWG, 8 AWG, 6 AWG, and numerous nickel strips. Regarding quality, everything was flawless. As an electrician, I prefer pure copper over its alternatives, and the same is true for nickel. In order to build electrodes for nickel plating, I cut off some long strips and folded them up. It is common for them to leave behind a black grit in the solution that may be filtered out. Otherwise, I was able to effectively nickel plate my parts and my solution remained green as it should have. EDIT: Maintaining control over your current flow and surface preparation are crucial factors in the quality of your nickel plating. Additionally, I used 99.9% nickel, which reduced the amount of black debris in the solution but had no effect whatsoever on the final finish's quality or appearance. This product is thin, similar to foil, and it dissolves quickly when it comes into contact with the solution, falling off and disrupting your circuit no matter how you fold or ball it up. Remember that the more anode surface area that is in contact with the solution, the larger the current flow, even if you don't have a power source that allows you to adjust the current flow. These leads showed up as promised and on schedule. I had no trouble connecting the cable connectors, ground clamp, and electrode holder. I successfully welded a 1/2" plate upward, a 6010 root and hot pass, and a 7018 fill and cap. In the 6G position, I successfully welded 4" schedule 40 carbon pipe, 6010 root and hot pass, and 7018 cap. The only things that set these cables apart from the old ones were: 1) one of them is red; 2) they are a little stiffer, most likely because they are new; and 3) when I used them, I received a crisper arc, but it might have also been due to the new electrode holder, ground clamp, or cable connectors. Excellent cables and welding leads overall.
