Although it has a nice appearance and I should have been aware of its dimensions because they were listed in the item description, if I hadn't noticed it was packed with another item by looking at my recent orders page, it would have been picked up by the recycling tomorrow. I rushed outside to examine the boxes after seeing that it had been delivered and found it hidden under the bottom flap of the box it had been transported in. Don't throw it out by accident!
In salt water or when utilized as an electrode (after first abrading them), there is no corrosion. They must include enough nickel since they are magnetic (pure nickel is magnetic; some nickel alloys, I believe, are not ferromagnetic). The thickness of the strips is 0.20 mm, but perhaps my HF micrometer is faulty. Though I'm not a metallurgist or chemist, these appear reliable. Look it up. I'm not sure why so many people on the internet believe that pure nickel is not magnetic.
With this product, I was able to successfully nickel plate some old tools at home using a simple nickel acetate bath. I've been using this nickel to run 6% acetic acid at 3–12 V and 300 mA, and I've had excellent results with little to no visible contamination introduced by this nickel. Additionally, I appreciate how easily this material can be bent, since it makes it simple to fit the nickel strip to the shape of the part. Quite remarkable considering the cost.
