A charming small work station with a hot air cannon and soldering iron. With reasonable speed and accuracy, the iron and the gun both heated to the temperature shown on the LED display. I'm a bit new to soldering, but I am familiar with PID controllers from my 3D printing experience, so I appreciated that the one operating this unit seemed pretty stable/accurate. This gives me peace of mind that my iron/gun temps are accurate and also helps to reassure me that I won't burn the unit out. I bought this unit to help me mod my 3D printer. I think this is a really decent device overall, especially considering the price, and it comes with all the peripherals and capabilities I need to do the work. I'm not an expert in this field, and I don't see me having to solder anything aside from the modifications I have in store for my 3D printer, but thus far, I'm really pleased with this device.
Our existing soldering iron is ancient and lacks a temperature control and a hot air cannon, so we've been in need of a new one for a while.
